Game & Practice Days: Tuesdays/Thursdays and occasional Weekends

This is a developmental and recreational league for players, coaches, and umpires, where having fun, as well as developing individual player skills and team social skills, are a priority to ensure everyone involved enjoys their baseball experience. Teams consist of 10-12 players who play other SOX teams. The SOX Board is committed to the Long Term Athletic Development model and we believe this schedule helps to develop lifelong athletic skills that will continue to benefit our children beyond their baseball years.

Players will be on the field twice a week, generally with one practice day and one game day. The season begins the first week of May weather permitting and ends at the end of June after a playoff tournament.

Tier One 11U Team(s)

The option for Tier 1 teams for the 2023 season will be confirmed at House Assessments.

This option is for House League 11U players with better-than-average abilities, looking for additional practices, coaching, tournament play and entry into the Provincial A-Level playoffs in July.

Tier One teams will not play in the SWEMBA House league. Instead, Tier One teams will play against similarly skilled teams from other clubs in the Edmonton area in the YEGA league. Games can be on any weekday and travel to the surrounding cities will be required (for example, Devon and Le Duc). Tier One players will be identified during the house assessments.  Players will be approached and will have the option to accept the invitation to the Tier One team, or play on a House Team.

Provincials Opportunity

$105 Extra fees will apply if you attend A-level provincials. This is to cover extra games and umpire fees. The A-level team is formed by combining one or more tier-1 teams of players able to play the first three weekends of July.

11U AA Teams

Interested in playing more baseball? Consider trying out for a AA team. AA teams practice during the week and play games during Baseball Alberta scheduled weekends.
